In the history of united states ,Abraham Lincoln is an iconic  figure .he is most of for his role in persevering the union and helping to end slavery in the unnoted states in emancipation proclamation .the son of literate farmer ,he examined  the American field that in the land of promise and plenty ,anyone can to the highest office .
Lincoln was born on February 12,1809.in a one log cabined in hard in country . Kentucky. His family move to southern Indiana in1816. Lincoln formal schooling was limited to three brief periods in local school. As he had to work constantly to support his family .after settling in the town of new saleme, Illinois, where he worked as a shopkeeper and a postmaster, Lincoln become envelops in local politics as a supporter of the wing party, winning election of the Illinois state .  Legislature in 1834. Lincoln opposed the speared of slavery to the territories and had a grand vision of the expanding united states with a focuses on commerce and cities rather than agriculture
                                Lincoln taught himself ,pass in the bar examination in 1836 the following year he move to the newly named state capital of spring field .for the next few year s he worked as a there as a lower ,earning a reputation  as “HONEST ABE “ he married marry Todd of Kentucky in 1842.                            
                         Lincoln won election to the US house of respective 1846 .as congress man Lincoln was unpopular with Illinois’ voters of the his strong stance against the us war with Mexico. Promising not to seek re –election, he returns to spring field to in1849. Enceinte conspired to push him back into national publicists .on October 16 1854 Lincoln went before a large crowed in Pretoria to defeat the merits the kansasnebraska   and calling the institution a violation of the mist basic tenet of the declaration of independence

                                          With the wing parties in ruins Lincoln joined the new publican party and ran for the senate ,in June Lincoln delivered own –famous “house divided “  speech in which he quoted from the go special  to illustrate his belief .though he lost Lincolns performance made  his reputation nationally .in may 1860 republicans close Lincoln as their candidates for president passing over many acclaimed contenders for the highest office .with Hannibal Hamlin as his running mate ,Lincoln was elected the president on November 6,1860
                         He supervised many by proving to be a more than capable wartime leader learning quickly about strategy and tactics in the early year of the civil war ,and about choosing  a best commander .immediately after the battle of Antietam (sharp urges) Lincolns issued a primary emancipation proclamation ,which took effort on January 1,1863 and feed all of the slave  in the rebellious states but left those in the border  state in bondage .he regarded emancipation as on of his greatest achievements and would argue for the passage of a constitutional amen demented outlawing slavery (eventually passed as the 13th  amendments after his death in 1865)
                          In 1864 ,Lincoln faced a taught reelections battle against the democratic nominee ,the former union general gorge  mc Chelan but union victories in battle swung many votes  the presidents away .in  his second inaugural address  delivered on march 4,1865 ,Lincolns address the read to reconstruct   the south and rebuild the unions “WITH MALICE TOWARDS NONE ;WITH CHARITY FOR ALL”
                            TRAGICALLY Lincoln would not live to help carry out his vision of reconstitution .on the night of April ,the actor and confederate  sympathizer join walker  booth slipped into the president ‘s at ford theater in wash tong and shot. Him point blank in the  back of the  dead .Lincoln died in the early morning hours of April 15 leaving behind his indelible legacy.
