1 teaspoon baking powder
2 1/2 cup water
3 green cardamom
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
3 teaspoon milk powder
1 cup sugar
For The Main Dish
refined oil as required

How to make Malpua
·       To prepare this easy recipe, put a deep-bottomed pan on medium flame and add 2 cups of water in it along with sugar. Stir once to mix sugar and bring it to a boil. Next, add cardamom seeds in it and let the syrup simmer until sticky. Make sure that the sugar syrup is of 2-string consistency. Once done, turn off the flame and transfer the sugar syrup to a bowl. Keep it aside until required.

·       Now, take a large bowl and mix together all purpose flour, fennel seeds, milk powder, baking powder, sugar and 1/2 cup of water. Make sure that no lumps are remaining and then allow the batter to rest for 30 minutes.

·       Now, heat oil in a kadhai or a deep-bottomed pan over medium flame. When the oil is hot enough, take a medium-size spatula and add the batter in the kadhai. Fry on low flame till golden brown in colour. Repeat the procedure to make malpuas. Once fried, place them on an absorbent paper to soak the extra oil. Then, place these malpuas in the sugar syrup for the sweetness and allow them to rest for an hour. Serve warm.
